Hope Cross Country Race Series 2013 - Round 3: Preview

5 September 2013  |

Check out this great preview for the 3rd round of the Hope Tech XC that is set to take place at Lee Quarry this Sunday on the 8th of September. Get involved!

As everyone seems to be getting ready for winter the Brownbacks team are preparing for an Indian summer of XC racing in the quarry. The trails are dry and dusty and the course design theme is “speed” so expect fast flowing trails and plenty of opportunities to engage the big ring.

This series which is about as “grass roots” as you can get delivers the friendliest introduction to racing possible. Everything is done by volunteers who work hard to deliver racing in a quarry which is both challenging and accessible.

If you haven’t raced before this is where to start. Each event is designed to allow riders of all standards compete and enjoy themselves so two courses are operated at the same time, the “Have-a-go” course threads its way through the quarry on a smoother less challenging route than the main course where riders are pushed hard on exciting descents mixed in with technical climbs. If you are admiring the cut of your lycra in the shop window as you ride by then we have a course for you as well. It looks set to be a great weekend, make sure you are part of it!

Not riding? Lee Quarry is a compact site and is great for spectators who can see the racing at many places during the event. As always we need lots of volunteers on race day if you want to get involved and support these events and the team get in touch via the website.
